Julie Nadler-Visser

Research Contracts Manager

Julie is a qualified attorney (B.Soc.Sc LLB LLM) with five year's experience in general practise, with a Master's degree in Environmental Law and two year's prior working experience in the Research Department at Old Mutual. Julie has been with RC&I since 2003, in which time she has gleaned an extensive knowledge in the processing and drafting of research contracts and has offered her services where required in associated legal matters.



Jessica Senekal

Research Contracts Manager

Jessica Senekal graduated from UNISA with an LLB degree in 2014. She completed her articles of clerkship at Marais Müller Hendricks Inc. and was admitted as an Attorney of the Western Cape High Court in May 2017. She continued to work as a practicing attorney until mid-2019 gaining experience in Civil and Commercial Litigation, Company Law and drafting of commercial agreements. She joined UCT as a Contracts Manager in September 2019.



Louise Groenewald

Research Contracts Manager

Louise Groenewald is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and graduated at the University of the Western Cape with a LL.B degree in 2007 and completed her LL.M degree in Intellectual Property Law through UNISA in 2012.

She completed her tenure of articles at Laubscher & Hattingh Attorneys in Durbanville where she gained experience in drafting Wills and Contracts, Corporate Law and litigation, to mention a few. Louise went on to commence employment at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2014 as a Contracts Officer in their Technology Transfer Office. When her employment ended at CPUT in April 2017, she took up a position at the University of Cape Town as a Contracts Manager in their Research Contracts and Innovation Department where she is currently employed on a permanent basis.

Lucinda Rooza

Research Contracts Manager

Lucinda entered the legal field in 2007. A self-funded scholar who has grown her formal qualifications including Senior Paralegal studies and a Bachelor of Laws degree majoring in environmental law, world trade law and international law. She spent two years in a law firm before moving into the corporate world. Lucinda comes with ten year’s extensive experience in corporate where she had a key seat on a specialist panel focusing primarily on commercial drafting, government relations, risk and insurance in an international group company. Lucinda joined RC&I in June 2018.


Nadia Ebrahim

Research Contracts Manager

Nadia commenced her studies at the University of Cape Town in 2002. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a triple major in Law, Psychology and French in 2004, a postgraduate Bachelor of Laws degree in 2006 and a Master of Laws degree in 2008. She completed her articles at Chennells Albertyn Attorneys, where she gained invaluable experience in a broad array of legal fields, most notably commercial, contract and corporate law as well as labour and employment litigation. Nadia also worked for Shields Chiat Attorneys and has sat as an assessor of the Western Cape High Court and has worked as an ABSA Bank Business Legal Advisor and Due Diligence, Risk and Compliance Officer. She is an admitted attorney and conveyancer and is currently studying for her admission as a notary public. Nadia joined UCT as a Contracts Manager in April 2016.

Nandie Makatesi

Contracts Officer
Nandie returned to RC&I in August 2018 as a Contracts Officer, she previously worked as the Administrative Assistant (2012-2014). She completed a National Diploma in Public Management and a Certificate in Project Management. Before joining UCT, Nandie worked at University of Western Cape as an Administrative Assistant. Nandie has also worked in different departments at UCT as an Administrative Officer. Nandie is currently studying towards an LLB degree at the University of South Africa.


Warda Sablay

Research Contracts Manager

Warda commenced her studies at the University of Cape Town in 2001. She obtained a B Com Degree in Economics and Law, where after she completed a postgraduate degree in Law. She completed her articles at Abrahams and Gross Inc. in Cape Town in January 2009. She has 2 years experience in general litigation but her main area of focus was family law. She specialised in running maintenance and divorce trials. Warda was admitted as an attorney in March 2009 and was appointed as a Research Contracts Manager by UCT in May 2009.
